VINTA Gallery founder and creative director Caroline Mangosing on reclaiming Imelda Marcos’ terno, the death of modern Filipino fashion and the importance of giving her clothes regional context. This film is part of Dual Citizen Series, a mini documentary series exploring eureka moments of the Filipino diaspora. Through conversations with community leaders, artists, entrepreneurs, educators, and culture changers, the series examines the power that comes from embracing their dual identities—and how this translates to their respective creative and community work.
Marie Alcober is a Filipino Canadian journalist and producer whose work has appeared in various online news publications across Canada, including BNN Bloomberg, The Globe and Mail, CBC Arts, among others. She created Dual Citizen as a passion project to document the incredible work she witnessed Filipinos were doing in Toronto. She leads the content and creative direction of the series and is usually the person behind the camera conducting the interviews.
