Using an unconventional way of storytelling, the film revolves around an ambitious lady who desires to be a nun. As she battles depression, her creative mind explores the different realms of life, visually presented in symbols with various meanings but within the bounds of her imagination.
Melver Ritz L. Gomez is a filmmaker from Ilocos Norte. His films center on the culture and tradition of the Ilokanos. He also got into spotlight and was recognized by the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte for the National Arts Month last February for INSpotlight. He was a workshopper of Ricky Lee’s Film Scriptwriting Workshop (Batch 24) of which the award-winning Scriptwriter served as the mentor. “Dagiti Tallo a Virgen” was selected as a shortfilm showcase for Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino last 2020 and was curated for NCCA’s National Committee on Cinema for their annual Cinema Rehiyon which highlights the Best Films from the Regions.
