Kahilwasan (Safety)

by Stephanie Metcalf and Julienne Bautista

7 min, Philippines, Cebuano

Cora, a lively and curious young girl, is taken by Esther, her terrified and paranoid mother, to hide in a cave in order to escape an imminent war. But, as Cora will come to realise, not all wars are external.

Stephanie Mejares Metcalf is a fresh graduate of the International Academy of Film and Television in Cebu City, Philippines with a passion for bringing ideas to life on screen. This young filmmaker has a desire to explore true-to-life, uniquely Filipino stories and share them with the world, hoping to play a role in the development and recognition of independent Filipino cinema. After working on multiple student films and other projects locally in Cebu, Stephanie is on her way to making her mark internationally.REGISTER FOR FREE ACCESS TO DIWA 2021: https://bit.ly/3bo8tsp
